  Had my first visit with Dr Mendez in Port Charlotte and I have to say that I was very impressed with the staff and also with the doctor. Despite the fact that I had gotten there late because of another appointment and Dr Mendez was short staffed, he squeezed me in and was able to see me. He took his time, did a thorough checkup and took his time explaining everything. I felt very comfortable with him as well as the staff and to me that is Key! I highly recommend him! .

  This physician will only see you when it is convenient for him. He will tell you that he is very concerned about your health and order all kinds of blood work and then never schedules a follow up and when you have an issue where you need to see him he refuses to see you. The only thing they will tell you is to go the the emergency room even when you do not have an emergency (this occurred during their normal office hours). The front desk clerk is very rude and acts like you are a bother to her. Even if the doctor was busy or maybe out of town why didn't they refer me to another physician that would see me? When asked to schedule an appointment so that I could be seen the front desk clerk said that she couldn't give me a date because she had to ask the doctor first. I would not recommend this doctor at all!!!
